Bosh On Twitter

As everybody knows, Chris Bosh’s tweets have been making headlines all over the NBA. I think we need to relax on this one.
The original video is posted at Raptorspace.com.

Meet Ariel Antigua

He is 5 years old, and can hit an 85 MPH fastball.
In case you didn’t hear me right, he is FIVE years old, and can hit an 85 MPH FASTBALL.
To put this into perspective, I played competitive baseball for 10 years, and I’m pretty sure I’d be dribbling those pitches to the mound if I made contact at all.
To say this kid is a phenom wouldn’t even do it justice. He’s doing the rounds on all kinds of talk shows these days to get the word out. Except, he can’t even be drafted until 2023. Yeah, 13 years from now.
Let’s all see if we can remember his name for that long. Who knows maybe he’ll actually pan out in to the best player of all time. He’s from Jersey and he’s a Mets fan. Why does that make me think the Yankees will do everything in their power to get this kids name on the dotted line as soon as humanly possible.

30 For 30

There is a chance that if you live under a rock, don’t watch sports, or don’t have cable like myself.. you might not be entirely privy to the new series airing on ESPN entitled “30 For 30.”
The basic concept for this is that ESPN will be airing 30 stories from the past 30 years that, although documented, not fully detailed and brought in to prominence.
For an example, the video I posted above chronicles the heated rivalry between Reggie Miller and the New York Knicks throughout the 90’s. Everybody knows there was a rivalry, but this takes you directly inside the heads of those involved and gives you a first hand look and what was taking place.
The premiere episode explored the Wayne Gretzky trade when he was moved from the Edmonton Oilers to the Los Angeles Kings. Once again a VERY well known story, but many (including myself) never fully understood why the deal went down and the reasons behind it.
If you have any fascination with sports, or simply documentaries, you NEED to be tuning to this series. For those of you in Canada who don’t receive ESPN, all of the aired stories can easily be found on YouTube.
GO!

Hey, Twitter

A timeout to give thanks to the people of Twitter.

I’ve been tweeting for a year and change now, and I’m still constantly amazed by this tool. You all let me talk about dumb shit seemingly endlessly, while I try to sprinkle in important viewpoints on life. And you LISTEN to me. You respond to me. You laugh at and with me. Some of you have told me I’ve made your day better. Some of you have told me I’ve even changed your opinion on important issues.
All that is kind of mind-blowing to me. I’m just some dude sharing his thoughts.
I know in the future I’ll be working with some of you too. Friendships, networks, insanity.
Thank you, for real.

I Love You

After much soul searching, I have decided that I have one true love in my life. Her name, is Toronto sports. She hasn’t been the nicest person to me over the past couple of years, but she has never cheated on me.

She’s always there every October and April. She never misses a date. And she always makes me smile.
I get mad at her sometimes, but it’s constructive criticism. It’s all love. When you finally win a championship – I’ll be right there with you. Yelling until I don’t have a voice. Partying with 10’s of thousands of people. Lighting cars on fire. Going to parades with you.
Until death do us part ma’ lady.

Hey Jays Fans

If you watch this without chills.. we are not going to get along

Remember THIS Guy?

Every so often I get to thinking about sports figures who, when I was young, we among the best in the league before falling in to relative obscurity. The man I thought about today, was Albert Belle.

Do you remember this guy? I hope so. The guy put up some monster stats in his career, being one of the only players to have 30 home runs and 100 RBI’s in 8 straight seasons.
Of course, we likely remember him more for throwing a baseball at a fan’s chest. What’s that? You didn’t hear me? Yes, Albert Belle threw a baseball at a fan’s chest (FROM RIGHT FIELD).
Anyways, the question is… is this guy a Hall of Famer? His number suggest that he is.

Too Damn Funny

Yeah, I know this movie has been out for over a year now. But, since I picked it up on DVD, I’ve been watching it a LOT. And I have to say, in my opinion it’s the funniest comedy since Dumb & Dumber.

It’s simply impossible not to actually laugh out loud during this flick, no matter how many times you see it. My scale for how funny a movie is can be determined by whether or not I laugh out loud when I’m watching it alone. This one qualifies.
Latress on the manjay…

Olivia Wilde

That is all.

Wanna Help?

How would YOU like to be part of something cool? Well, this is your chance!

Myself along with my friend Derek Masters are starting a web series entitled Strut N’ Stroll and we want your help!
We’re looking for people to pitch in with ideas, full scripts, act or be any other roll on the series!
I play Marty Strut – a sports writer. Derek plays Shawn Stroll – a “famous” film director, at least in his own mind.
The series is currently slated for ten 5-7 minute webisodes. The first webisode has been written and will begin production shortly. The remainder of the season will not only be up to us, but YOU!
Wanna help?
