Sid The Kid

I don’t like to say I told you so, but at precisely 3:10 PM yesterday, 5 minutes before the puck dropped to the greatest hockey game ever played, I posted on Twitter : Crosby is going to own this building forever after today. Period.

Close to 3 hours later, Crosby scored one of, if not THEE, biggest goal in Canadian hockey history. Not as flashy as Bobby Orr flying through the air. The call wasn’t as good as the Paul Henderson goal. But in this game. On this stage. In this context.
This is how legends are made. Skills aside. Crosby now has a Stanley Cup ring, and an Olympic gold medal at 22 years of age. People have been calling him “The Next One” (in reference to Gretzky’s moniker of “The Great One”) since he was in his mid teens.
Time to believe all the hype. This ‘Kid’ is the real deal.
